Vernon has spent the last 15 years in music ministry. Previous to that Vernon was blessed with a career in music that spanned twenty five years. Vernon decided ten years ago to start teaching to help others realize their musical potential. Many of his students have gone on to successful careers.
Vernon studied privately with Monk Montgomery, the great jazz bassist in Columbus, Ohio. For the last three years, Vernon has worked as the worship pastor for Jubilee South Coast Church. Two years prior that he split his time between Saddleback Church and Calvary Laguna as a bassist. Eight and a half years before that he was on the worship team at Capo Beach Calvary.
Vernon’s credits as a producer, touring and recording musician include: Kenny Loggins,Bette Midler,Michael McDonald, Dave Mason, Tim Weisberg, Above the Clouds ( Vernon’s jazz group which received the number four record of the year), Larsen-Feiten Band, Maranatha Live, Rick Tatum, Chip Bellisime, Chariya Bissonette and many more.
Vernon has done recording sessions all over the world. Vernon’s curriculum includes fundamentals, harmony, reading, and all styles.
